Recession - Snacking on the Job on Rise
A new survey says that workers are snacking more during the current recession.
Wired PR News – Workers are reportedly snacking more during their normal workday amid the current recession. As reported by Reuters, a survey by online job search site, CareerBuilder.com, stated that a number of workers have increased their snacking habits and had complaints of resulting weight gain attributed to economic concerns.
Rosemary Haefner, CareerBuilder.com human resources vice president, is quoted in the report as stating, “Weight gain in the office is common and is a result of a variety of issues including today’s economic stress and poor eating habits.”
The survey results also revealed that nine percent of employees participate in midday exercise activities, despite 25 percent of companies in the U.S. providing related benefits such as gym passes or workout facilities within their places of employment.
