FDA Warns Against Use of Hydroxycut
Government health officials strongly urge dieters to stop using the product.
Wired PR News – The Food and Drug Administration (FDA), is strongly urging dieters to discontinue use of the weight loss supplement Hydroxycut. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), the FDA issued warnings to consumers on Friday, recommending that they stop using the product immediately.
Hydroxycut, a product most notably used by dieters and body builders, has reportedly been linked to serious health complications including liver damage, and is said to have led to the death of a teenager.
Due to reports of health issues, the manufacturer of the supplement is set to recall 14 of their products. The company is quoted by the AP as saying in a statement on its website, “While this is a small number of reports relative to the many millions of people who have used Hydroxycut products over the years, out of an abundance of caution and because consumer safety is our top priority, we are voluntarily recalling these Hydroxycut-branded products.”
