Obama Pleased - Commitments from Afghanistan and Pakistan Leaders
The president declared he received commitments from Afghanistan and Pakistan leaders to fight Taliban militants.
Wired PR News – President Barack Obama stated on Wednesday that he received the commitments he was seeking from Afghanistan and Pakistan leaders in an effort to fight Taliban and al-Qaida militant threats. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), Obama met with Presidents Hamid Karzai of Afghanistan and Asif Ali Zardari of Pakistan on Wednesday at the White House to discuss diplomacy efforts.
Obama is quoted by the AP as stating, “I’m pleased that these two men, elected leaders of Afghanistan and Pakistan, fully appreciate the seriousness of the threats that we face and have reaffirmed their commitment to confronting it.” The president is further quoted as stating, “We have learned time and again that our security is shared… We will work for the day when our nations are linked not by a common enemy but by a shared peace and prosperity.”
