The US Attorney General has stated that the terrorists detained at the prison facility will not be released into the U.S.

Wired PR News – U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder sought to calm fears of lawmakers Thursday during testimony on the release of Guantanamo Bay prisoners. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), Holder stated to Congress that terrorists detained at the prison facility will not be released into U.S. neighborhoods when the facility is closed.

Holder is quoted in the report as stating to lawmakers at a Senate hearing on the proposed budget for closing the Cuba based facility, “We don’t have any plans to release terrorists… With regard to those who you would describe as terrorists, we would not bring them into this country and release them, anyone we would consider to be a terrorist.” As noted by the AP, the Obama administration is requesting up to $160 million for the Justice Department to close the prison.
