Ed McMahon Settles Malpractice Claim Against Hospital
The television icon has reportedly reached a settlement in his malpractice case.
Wired PR News – Ed McMahon has recently settled a malpractice lawsuit against a Los Angeles hospital according to an attorney involved in the case. As reported by Reuters, McMahon settled a medical malpractice claim against Cedars-Sinai Medical Center under undisclosed terms. The iconic television host brought suit against the hospital for an alleged failed diagnosis, botched operations, and other claims in July of 2008.
As noted by Reuters, Robert Packer, an attorney for Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, is stated to have remarked that a settlement was reached out of court, but did not provide any specific terms of the agreement.
McMahon, now 86, is most well known for long-term television hosting gigs on NBC’s “The Tonight Show” with Johnny Carson, which lasted for 30 years until Carson’s retirement in 1992, and “Star Search.”
