Student Threatened with Suspension Over Prom Attendance
A Christian school reportedly tells a student not to attend a prom with his girlfriend at a public school.
Wired PR News – A teen has reportedly been told by the Christian school he attends that if he accompanies his girlfriend to her prom he will face suspension. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), Tyler Frost, 17, was told by the Ohio based Heritage Christian School not to attend the prom of Findlay High School Saturday, because it goes against school rules.
As noted by the AP, the school warned Frost that his attendance may lead to suspension and he would be barred from graduation ceremonies. According to the school’s rules, dancing, hand-holding, and other social actions are forbidden.
In accordance with Findlay High School’s policies, Frost was required to get the signature of his principal on a form in order to attend prom at their school. Frost is quoted in the report as stating of the controversy surrounding his prom plans, “I expected a short lecture about making the right decisions and not doing something stupid…I thought I would get his signature and that would be the end.”
