The classified site will reportedly get rid of their erotic services category.
Wired PR News – Craigslist will reportedly remove the category for “erotic services” from its site. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), the classified ad website announced this week that they will rid the site of the category in addition to screening “adult services” submissions.
Some remain skeptical of the proposed changes and Craigslist’s purported efforts to crack down on individuals using their online services to commit crimes. New York Attorney General Andrew Cuomo is quoted by the AP as remarking in a statement, “Rather than work with this office to prevent further abuses, in the middle of the night, Craigslist took unilateral action which we suspect will prove to be half-baked.”
As noted by the AP, Craigslist has been in the spotlight recently for reported crimes committed that were shown to have some connection to ads posted on the site.
