A fugitive drives across two counties to get a burrito before his arrest.
Wired PR News – A fugitive led police on a high-speed chase across two counties in an attempt to get a burrito before his arrest. As reported by The Journal Gazette, Jermaine Askia Cooper was arrested Tuesday in the parking lot of a Taco Bell after driving over 90 mph during a 16 minute police pursuit.
Sgt. Mark Walters with the Fort Wayne Police Department’s Vice and Narcotics Division is quoted in the report as stating that Cooper told officers that he wanted to get his last burrito because he, “knew he was going to jail for a while.”
As noted by The Journal Gazette, Cooper is facing charges for cocaine dealing in addition to resisting arrest, possession of a controlled substance, possession of a firearm, and other crimes. He was not able to get a burrito.
