Pfizer to Provide Free Drugs to Jobless
The pharmaceutical giant will reportedly offer free prescriptions for some who have lost their jobs.
Wired PR News – A number of Americans will be able to receive their prescription medications for free in the event they lose their jobs. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), Pharmaceutical giant Pfizer announced Thursday that they will provide many of their most prescribed drugs for free to people who’ve become unemployed since the beginning of this year and have been using the products for at least three months.
Dr. Jorge Puente with Pfizer is quoted as stating to the Associated Press in an interview, “Everybody knows now a neighbor, a relative who has lost their job and is losing their insurance. People are definitely hurting out there… Our aim is to help people bridge this point.”
As noted in the report, more than 70 drugs are included in those to be given away including Lipitor and Celebrex, and eligible individuals will be able to receive them for up to one year at no cost.
