Four Americans Slain in Tijuana
Four Americans were found slain in Tijuana, Mexico.
Wired PR News – Four young Americans have been killed in Tijuana, Mexico. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), the victims were found beaten, strangled, and stabbed days after purportedly deciding to go out partying in the area.
Mexican prosecutors are reportedly investigating whether the killings were connected to drug violence in the country or the victims were randomly selected for the violent attack. The victims, who are said to be in their teens and early 20s, are from the San Diego area.
As noted in the report, Tijuana is regarded as one of the cities on Mexico’s border with the highest incidence of violent acts, with 843 people having been killed in 2008. Much of the violence is said to be connected to the drug trade. Tourists traveling to Mexico from the U.S. have previously been warned by the State Department to exercise caution.
