Twitter Helps Feed Foodie Fire
Food aficionados use the online medium to find the best meals on wheels.
Wired PR News – Twitter has become a popular form of advertising for meals on wheels enterprises. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), the social networking site has been widely used by businesses such as Korean-style taco vendor Kogi BBQ, which has gained more of a following by using tweets to tell customers where their roaming trucks will be located, as well as alert people to their specials.
Twitter has reportedly become a means for roving businesses like Kogi to generate repeat business. Mike Prasad, brand manager of Kogi, is quoted by the AP as stating the food provider was searching for a means to motivate consumers to repeatedly seek their business while creating a more appealing structure for the transportable setting, “Then they find Twitter, something that’s separate from the venue itself that creates a virtual home…It was perfect.”
Kogi’s food is said to be exclusive and inexpensive in price. The added excitement of the search for the different locations and constantly changing menu helps keep consumers in the know and attracted to the chase.
