American Idol declared its winner Wednesday.
Wired PR News – A winner was declared on “American Idol” Wednesday, after voters made their final decision on the remaining two. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), contestant Kris Allen was given the top honor beating out competition Adam Lambert.
Allen is quoted by the AP as stating after being stunned by his win, “I’m sorry, I don’t even know what to feel right now. This is crazy.” Both Allen and Lambert performed during the finale before the winner was announced, singing together and with popular acts such as Kiss and Keith Urban. Rod Stewart, Fergie, Cyndi Lauper, and Steve Martin were also featured on the program.
