Five Year-Old Child Shot in Drive By
A young Dallas girl was injured in a drive by shooting Saturday while lying in bed.
Wired PR News – A young Dallas area child was shot Saturday while lying in bed with her mother. As reported by CBS 11 News, five year-old Kayla Mitchell was struck in the head with a bullet while she slept, after someone fired into her family’s home in Pleasant Grove.
As noted by CBS 11, Kayla has been given a good prognosis after the occurrence, despite the bullet shattering an area of her skull. The family is reportedly seeking more information about the shooters, and hopes those that may have information pertaining to the crime report it to the proper authorities.
A cousin of the child’s mother, Sherry, is quoted in the report as stating, “So much goes on in the world today and we don’t know what would prompt someone to do something like that… It happened to our family this day, but it will be somebody else’s tomorrow.”
