Self Proclaimed Oldest Blogger Passes Away
Blogging sensation Maria Amelia Lopez has died at the age of 97.
Wired PR News — A woman who regarded herself as the oldest blogger in the world has died at the age of 97. As reported by Yahoo! Tech, Spanish great-grandmother Maria Amelia Lopez of Muxia, Spain passed away last week in her hometown.
As noted in the report, Lopez began blogging on http://amis95.blogspot.com in 2006, after she received the site as a present from her grandson, who created it when she turned 95. She subsequently gained a huge following with over 1.7 million hits to her website.
Lopez is quoted by Yahoo! Tech as stating of her outlet for communicating with individuals across the globe, “It took 20 years off my life… My bloggers are the joy of my life. I did not know there was so much goodness in the world.”
