Phil Spector Sentenced for Clarkson Murder
The music producer was sentenced to 19 years to life in prison for murder.
Wired PR News – Music producer Phil Spector was handed down his sentence on Friday for a recent murder conviction. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), Spector was sentenced to 19 years to life for the murder of Lana Clarkson, an actress who was shot in his home six years ago.
As noted in the report, Spector, who reportedly sat emotionless in court, has also been ordered to pay restitution and other expenses that total more than $25,000.
Spector’s wife, Rachelle, is quoted by the AP as stating of the sentencing, “This is a sad day for everybody involved… The Clarkson family has lost a daughter and a sister. I’ve lost my husband, my best friend. I feel that a grave injustice has been done and from this day forward I’m going to dedicate myself to proving my husband’s innocence.”
The music producer’s son is also quoted in the report as stating, “I’m torn about this… I’m losing my father who is going to spend his life in jail. At the same time, justice is served.”
