Hannah Powell-Auslam shares in an interview her struggle with a rare condition.
Wired PR News – A 10 year-old from Southern California is battling a rare form of breast cancer. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), Hannah Powell-Auslam discussed her ordeal in an interview with ABC’s “Good Morning America,” which aired this week.
As noted in the report, Hannah, a fifth-grader at Escalona Elementary School in Los Angeles, was diagnosed with invasive secretory carcinoma after the discovery of a lump in April. The rare form of breast cancer is said to have been first diagnosed in children in the 1960s.
Hannah is quoted by the AP as stating in the interview, “I feel like a kid inside but sometimes I feel like an adult, when I’m always at the hospital.” Her father, Jeremy, is further quoted as stating via email, “Hannah’s prognosis is very good and the type of cancer is very slow growing.”
