Debris of Air France Flight 447 Found
Debris from the missing plane have reportedly confirmed where it crashed.
Wired PR News – Wreckage from Air France Flight 447 has reportedly been discovered. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), debris from the plane, which carried 228 individuals and vanished Sunday in route to Paris, were found by Brazilian military pilots Tuesday.
Defense Minister Nelson Jobim is quoted by the AP as stating of the accident, “I can confirm that the five kilometers of debris are those of the Air France plane.” He is further stated to have remarked in a news conference that no bodies had yet been found.
As noted in the report, determining what caused the crash may take weeks. Meteorologist Henry Margusity with AccuWeather.com is quoted in the report as speculating on the cause, “The airplane was flying at 500 mph (800 km/h) northeast and the air is coming at them at 100 mph… That probably started the process that ended up in some catastrophic failure of the airplane.”
