Abused Woman Fears Release of Former Husband from Prison
A woman in North Carolina is afraid for her safety following the release of her husband from prison.
Wired PR News – A North Carolina woman, who is known for sharing her story of domestic abuse to help others, is now living in fear following the release of her abuser from prison. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), Heather Thompson, who was left permanently disabled due to abuse by her ex-husband Thomas Howard Price Jr. 15 years ago, is said to fear that he will attempt to harm her and her family now that he has been released.
As noted in the report, Price was released last week after serving additional time for writing a threatening letter to Thompson while in jail for battering her in 1994. Thompson is quoted in the report as stating, “There’s no doubt in my mind that he plans to come after me and the kids. The death threat said all three of you will die by my hands.”
Thompson is further quoted as stating, “I’m just ready for me to be able to move on with my life and be able to not always have to be the … face of domestic violence. There’s a lot more to Heather than just that.”
