Wal-Mart to Create Thousands of Jobs This Year
The retail giant is reportedly expected to create an estimated 22,000 jobs in 2009.
Wired PR News – Wal-Mart is reportedly expected to conduct massive job hirings this year. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), the retail giant is expected to hire 22,000 employees for new positions in 2009, following the opening or expansion of stores in the U.S.
Vice Chairman of Wal-Mart, Eduardo Castro-Wright, is quoted in the report as stating of the company’s employment opportunities, “At Wal-Mart, we offer competitive pay and benefits and real opportunities for our associates to advance and build careers… Job creation is just one way in which we’re working hard every day to help people across this country live better.” Castro-Wright is further quoted as stating, “During this difficult economic time, we’re proud to be able to create quality jobs for thousands of Americans this year.”
As noted by the AP, Wal-Mart will hold its annual meeting for shareholders on Friday.
