The two criticize the president’s stimulus plan at a Republican fundraiser.
Wired PR News – Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich and actor Jon Voight criticized the president and his policies at a recent fundraiser. As reported by Bloomberg.com, Gingrich, who filled former President George W. Bush’s prior role as keynote speaker for the dinner to raise money for Republican campaigns, called Obama’s stimulus plan a failure, with Voight adding that that the nation has now become weak as a result.
Gingrich is quoted by Bloomberg as stating at the event in Washington, “Bureaucrats managing companies does not work, politicians dominating the economy does not work.”
Voight is further quoted in the report as remarking, “We are becoming a weak nation… Republicans need to find their way back to power to free the nation from “this Obama oppression.” Voight also referred to the president as a “false prophet.”
