Some states are more suited for those seeking to start fresh in the job market.
Wired PR News – Some areas in the U.S. are better suited for those seeking to get a fresh start in the job market. As reported by BusinessWeek online, many have questioned whether they would fare better in another location, and the answer for some may be yes. Although places everywhere have been affected by the recession, some sectors like agriculture and energy have given job markets in states such as Texas, Alaska, and Washington a boost.
Omaha based Creighton University economics professor Ernie Goss is quoted in the report as stating of opportunities relocation can give way to, “If people are looking for a job and they’re in Detroit, they’re in the wrong place… They need to be considering geographic mobility.”
Brandon Delgrosso with software company Orem, is further quoted in the report as stating of prospects for software engineers in Utah, “People are losing jobs and companies are losing jobs… But there are still very specific jobs that they’re hiring for. We still feel the crunch that the entire nation is feeling. But when you think of other states, we have a better situation out here.”
