The entertainer pleaded guilty in court to assault charges.
Wired PR News –Entertainment News- Chris Brown entered a plea of guilty on Monday to charges that he assaulted former girlfriend Rihanna. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), the entertainer was given five years probation and six months community service for the plea deal. He is reportedly set to formally be sentenced in early August.
As noted by the AP, the singer and Rihanna were also ordered to keep their distance from one another during the court proceedings, having to maintain a distance of at least 50 yards under normal circumstances, and 10 yards at industry events.
Brown’s attorney, Mark Geragos, is quoted by the AP as stating following Monday’s hearing, “This is a kid who’s never been in trouble before… He embraces this as chance to get the message out that domestic violence will not be tolerated. He wants to get his life back on track.”
