Argentine Woman in Sanford Affair Speaks
The woman stated to have carried on an affair with S.C. governor Mark Sanford has come forward.
Wired PR News – The Argentine woman with whom South Carolina governor Mark Sanford reportedly had an affair has come forward. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), although Sanford did not disclose her identity when admitting to the affair, Maria Belen Chapur decided to issue a statement Sunday regarding leaked correspondence that revealed their relationship.
Chapur is quoted by the AP as citing in her short statement, “I have decided to send this statement to clear up certain incorrect things that are being reported and put an end to a matter that, as you imagine, is very painful to me, my two children, my entire family and close friends.” She is further quoted as stating of the media leak of information allegedly from her hacked email account, “I have a strong suspicion of who is responsible for this evil act that was directed at me, but also destroyed the lives of so many others… But without sufficient proof, and for legal reasons, I am obligated to not reveal the name.”
