The US and Russia are reportedly in disagreement over cyberwar attack threats.
Wired PR News – The United States and Russia are reportedly in disagreement in regards to how to combat problems with cyberwar attacks. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), the two nations are expected to address the matter during President Barack Obama’s upcoming trip to Russia as well as at the United Nation’s General Assembly in November, according to an article in the New York Times.
The Times is quoted by the AP as quoting an anonymous State Department official who stated of the issue, “We really believe it’s defense, defense, defense… They want to constrain offense. We needed to be able to criminalize these horrible 50,000 attacks we were getting a day.”
As noted by the AP, Obama is set to travel to Russia July 6 in an effort to improve relations between the countries.
