Prominent TV Pitchman Billy Mays Passes Away
Pitchman Billy Mays dies suddenly.
Wired PR News – Pitchman for some of the most recognized products on television Billy Mays has died. As reported by E! Online, Mays was found dead early Sunday at his home.
As noted in the report, Mays, 50, was said to have sustained a bump to his head aboard a flight on US Airways Saturday; however, there had yet to be a determination of the cause of his death contained in the report.
Mays gained widespread popularity with the promotion of products such as OxiClean and Orange Glo. As further noted by E! Online, he had also become co-host of the new series “Pitchmen” on the Discovery Channel.
Mays’ wife, Deborah, is quoted in the report as releasing the statement following his death, “Although Billy lived a public life, we don’t anticipate making any public statements over the next couple of days. Our family asks that you respect our privacy during these difficult times.”
