Parents Request to be Named Administer of Jackson’s Estate
The mother of Michael Jackson filed a petition Monday to be named administrator of his estate.
Wired PR News – The mother of Michael Jackson filed a petition Monday to be named administrator of his estate. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), Katherine Jackson, with the support of her husband Joe Jackson, is said to have filed the papers to ensure that the late entertainer’s children would be his beneficiaries.
Court documents are quoted by the AP as stating that Ms. Jackson, “intends to marshal assets of the decedent for the exclusive use of the decedent’s three children — her grandchildren — after payment of debts and expenses of administration.”
As noted in the report, Jackson’s mother was awarded temporary guardianship of his three children. A hearing is reportedly scheduled for July 6, as well as one for August 3 in regards to the filings.
