The company’s founders begin new venture.
Press Release Service – Wired PR News – The founders of hotel booking site Hotels.com have taken on a new venture in the same arena. As reported by the Dallas Business Journal, Bob Diener and David Litman, who had been keeping a low profile following the 2003 sale of Hotels.com, have announced the launch of Getaroom.com, which is also a website for booking hotels online.
As noted in the report, like Hotels.com, the call center and offices of Getaroom.com will also be based in Dallas, Texas. Litman is quoted in the report as stating of the new venture, “Our expertise in the hotel industry is unparalleled… Bob and I literally launched the online hotel booking industry back in 1995 with hotels.com, and its predecessor Hotel Reservations Network.”
Diener is further quoted as stating, “We could not have found a better time to launch… People look for better values. The hotels know us. We can be much more nimble than existing companies.”
