As reported by the Associated Press (AP), Johnston stated in a press conference that he viewed Palin’s decision as a move motivated by money concerns.
As noted by the AP, Johnston remarked that he heard the Alaska governor comment about wanting to take advantage of some of the deals that were offered to her previously. Johnston is quoted in the report as stating, “I think the big deal was the book. That was millions of dollars.”
Meghan Stapleton, a spokeswoman for the Palin family, is quoted in the report as stating of Johnston’s remarks, “It is interesting to learn Levi is working on a piece of fiction while honing his acting skills.”
