Being in Love Not Enough for Marriage
Research shows that more is needed for a successful long-term marriage.
Press Release Service – Wired PR News – Australian researchers propose that simply being in love is not sufficient enough to maintain a successful marriage. As reported by Reuters, the researchers found after tracking approximately 2,500 couples for a study, that several factors influence the duration of a marriage.
As noted in the report, factors that have an impact on the success of marriage include children, the number of previous marriages, parents of spouses, and money. Things on the list that do not have an impact include age, past relationships, and smoking habits.
The study titled, “What’s Love Got to Do With It” was reportedly written by professors of The Australian National University, Dr Rebecca Kippen and Professor Bruce Chapman, and Dr Peng Yu with the Department of Families, Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs.
