Yahoo and Microsoft are reportedly close to reaching a web advertisement deal.

The two companies are reportedly close to reaching an agreement for search advertisements.

Dallas, Texas (WiredPRNews.com) Microsoft and Yahoo are reportedly close to reaching a deal for web search advertisements. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), the companies are in talks for a deal that would entail them sharing revenue from search ads on their websites.

As noted by the AP, a source with knowledge of the deal has stated that it has yet to be made final. Microsoft has reportedly attempted to join forces with Yahoo previously, having made an offer to buy it for $47.5 billion over a year ago. Microsoft is stated to be seeking to position itself to more strongly compete with Google, using Yahoo’s top ranking search engine.

As further noted in the report, some speculate an agreement between Microsoft and Yahoo may lead to antitrust legal issues.
