Obama Meets with Crowley and Gates After Racial Profiling Controversy

The President and Vice President have a meeting with the Cambridge police officer and Harvard scholar at the heart of race dispute.

The officer was accused of racial profiling as a result of the arrest. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), the meeting was regarded by Crowley as productive, and the two planned to move forward after the controversial incident.
Obama is quoted by the AP as stating of the meeting, which he called “a testament” to Gates and Crowley, “I have always believed that what brings us together is stronger than what pulls us apart. I am confident that has happened here tonight, and I am hopeful that all of us are able to draw this positive lesson from this episode.”
