Judy Montalbano, a Tupperware sales representative, is quoted by Reuters as stating, “It does help pay the household bills and the extras…My husband is looking to retire next year. Everyone is looking to make extra money with the state of the economy.”
As noted in the report, Tupperware parties reached a high point in the 1950s, with may women of time times deeming such sales work as a means of empowerment and independence.
