Appleton – WI (WiredPRNews.com) — On July 22, 2009 Grace Kutney, Michelle Mangen, Derek Schauland all local Fox Valley, WI residents and Kevin Remde with Microsoft held a successful Resume 101 seminar at the Appleton Campus of Fox Valley Technical College.
What started as Derek’s idea quickly took off with the collaboration of all parties involved. Grace Kutney is a Career Development Advisor with Lawrence University and has many years of experience in the most appropriate resume format to use based on individual circumstances.
Within 24 hours of Fox Valley Technical College sending an email to the student base the 22 seats available for the free seminar were filled with an additional 21 people on a waiting list.
All parties who attended the seminar also received a surprise copy of MS Office 2007 Home & Student edition compliments of Kevin Remde with Microsoft Corporation.
Feedback from the registrants indicated the workshop was informative and well worth their time as they also learned MS Word 2007 tips while creating their own resume during the event.
Without the support and resources of Bruce Weiland with Fox Valley Technical College this event would not have been as successful as it was. They generously donated the use of their computer lab as well as other resources for the attendees.
Grace, Michelle and Derek all met via Twitter and felt the free seminar was a great way to give back to the local Fox Valley, WI community with so many people laid off and out of work.
