Inmates at a Florida jail are reportedly selling their own brand of hot sauce.
Press Release Service – Wired PR News – Inmates at a minimum-security jail in Tampa are bottling and selling their own brand of hot sauce. As reported by The Petersburg Times, the inmates have created a recipe for the condiment using jail-grown peppers, as part of the Hillsborough County Jail vocational program.
The hot sauce reportedly comes in various flavors including Original and No Escape. Rosalind Freeman, the mother of an inmate in the jail is quoted in the report as stating of the benefits of her son’s participation in the program, “When he gets out from here, which will be soon, he can just go straight into what he loves to do… I’m proud of him.”
As noted in the report, the price of a bottle of the hot sauce is $7.
