Pope Benedict to Release Album
The Pope is set to release his first religious album.
Press Release Service – Wired PR News – Pope Benedict is gearing up for the release of his first album. As reported by Reuters, the album, to be released by Geffen Records before Christmas, will feature the Pope singing chants, reciting scripture, and other religious performances in five languages. The Choir of the Philharmonic Academy of Rome and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra will provide accompanying vocals and music for the record.
Colin Barlow, President of the record label releasing the album, is quoted in the report as stating to Reuters Television, “I think in this day and age, as the public are, as I am, people are fascinated by all kinds of music. We’re not fed on one type of music.”
As noted by Reuters, Pope John Paul also released an album in 1999 on Sony Classical Music.
