White House Seeks to Debunk Health Care Myths
The Obama administration is using emails to counter opponents of health care reform.
Press Release Service – Wired PR News – The White House is utilizing email distribution to counter opponents of health care reform. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), a new ad for President Barack Obama’s health care plan, which has been strongly criticized by Republicans in Congress, has begun to air across the U.S. requesting that people circulate an email that provides information about the plan.
Ron Pollack, executive director of liberal advocacy group Families USA, is quoted by the AP as stating of the initiative, “This is really focused on what has been an increasing emphasis for almost all supporters of health care reform, namely trying to make sure families around the country understand the benefits of health reform for them — especially middle-class families that already do have health insurance.”
As noted in the report, a group of hospitals, drug makers, and others launched a $12 million campaign Thursday in support of the health care overhaul.
