Morningside School of Music in Edinburgh, have decided to give away £100,000 worth of music lessons before the end of the year, in a bid to get more children involved with music. The upmarket music school run by Edinburgh based Polar Flame Music http://www.polarflamemusic.com, have given away £20,000 in private music lessons to 2 lucky primary schools already. Every child at South Morningside Primary and Pentland Primary School, was given free music lessons in a bid to encourage them to pick up an instrument. Children were welcomed to try rock guitar, drums, singing, violin, saxophone and even try out at being a music producer at the music school’s new recording studio where such stars as number 1 selling popstar, Sandi Thom, have recorded.
£5,000 of the lessons will be donated to charities in and around Edinburgh to auction or raffle to help them raises funds. Bosses at the upmarket music school are already looking for more schools to donate the tuition too. “Many Schools have trouble with funding music lessons, so we just want to do our bit to help out and try and encourage as many children to pick up an instrument as possible” said David Jeans, Morningside School of Music general manager http://www.morningsideschoolofmusic.com “Our goal is to give away £100,000 worth of music lessons by December. We passed on £20,000 of lessons to 2 schools earlier this year, with £5,000 of gift vouchers going to charities to auction, we have another £75,000 to give out”

Polar Flame Music has been linked with many charities including ‘Moni Malawi’ in which they are helping to build a school in the poverty stricken country.
