Conservatives and Liberals Battle it Out Online
The two political groups put more emphasis on blogging for garnering support for their agenda.
Press Release Service – Wired PR News – As more conservative leaders embrace online means of garnering support for their agenda, the world of blogging has become more of a political battleground. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), grassroots groups such as the left wing Netroots Nation and the right wing RightOnline have taken steps such as integrating the teaching of online activism into their annual conferences, to spread the word about their ideals.
Erik Telford, executive director of RightOnline, is quoted by the AP as stating, “The Internet is a great place for people to turn when they want to get involved. And people really want to get involved when they’re locked out of power… At Americans for Prosperity, we realize we can’t just give marching orders to our activists. They have access to these tools. We want them to self-organize. We want to rebuild the movement from the bottom up.”
