Hutchinson Makes Plans to Run for Governor Official
The Senator has announced her plans to campaign for governor of Texas.
Press Release Service – Wired PR News – U.S. Senator Kay Bailey Hutchinson has announced her intentions to take on the longest serving governor in the state of Texas and oust him from his current position. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), Hutchinson has stated she will against Rick Perry for Texas Governor, and step down from her post as a U.S. Senator to focus on her 19-city campaign.
As noted by the AP, some suggest the campaign could divide the Republican Party in the state. Bruce Buchanan, a political scientist at the University of Texas, is quoted in the report as stating of the 2010 Republican primary battle, “They’ve already got the gloves off… We haven’t had anything like this in Texas for quite a while.”
