Press Release Service – Wired PR News – Attendance for Dallas-Fort Worth area attractions has reportedly been steady despite the economic downturn due to local crowds. As reported by the Dallas Morning News, the recession has sparked a decrease in travel across the nation, but an increase in the number local residents participating in summertime activities within the city.

Deborah Marine, spokeswoman for The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza, is quoted in the report as stating, “We had a decrease in the number of out-of-town visitors, but we doubled the number of repeat visitors and we’re getting lots of families… We think what that means is that we’ve got a lot more people staying close to home.”

In what has been deemed a staycation trend, many places that provide recreational activities throughout the area have offered extra promotional deals for individuals and families.
