Complaints Filed Against Adult-film Studios for Safety Violations
Several adult-film studios have been accused of workplace violations.
Press Release Service – Wired PR News – Several California based adult-film studios have been accused of workplace safety violations. As reported by Reuters, the Los Angeles-based AIDS Healthcare Foundation has filed complaints against 16 studios citing actors in their porn movies were not required to wear condoms.
As noted by Reuters, California’s Division of Occupational Safety and Health has been asked to conduct an investigation into the matter. Dean Fryer, a spokesman for Cal-OSHA, is quoted in the report as stating of the complaints, “We take it seriously, and it will be addressed…They have a valid point here… The blood-borne pathogens standard is designed to protect workers where there is the risk of transmission of diseases through bodily excretions that occur as part of adult film activity.”
