Oprah and Dr. Oz File Lawsuit Over Product Endorsements
The talk show host and physician have taken legal action over the use of their names in certain product endorsements.
Press Release Service – Wired PR News – Oprah Winfrey and Dr. Mehmet Oz have taken legal action over the unauthorized use of their names in product endorsements. As reported on NYDailyNews.com, Winfrey and Oz, who has made numerous appearances on her top ranked talk show, filed suit against dozens of companies Wednesday in Manhattan Federal Court.
As noted in the report, the companies allegedly used the names and likenesses of Winfrey and the physician to promote and sell a range of products, including weight loss supplements and anti-aging creams. Advertisements for the products are said to be deceptive, leading the public to believe they are endorsed by the two prominent figures, when they have not been.
