A woman recently being struck by lightening has prompted experts to emphasize weather safety.
Press Release Service – Wired PR News – A Bedford woman recently lost her unborn child after being struck by lightening. As reported by the Dallas Morning News, the incident has sparked experts to weigh in on the importance of safety precautions in inclement weather conditions.
National Weather Service meteorologist Dennis Cavanaugh is quoted in the report as stating, “Any time you have a thunderstorm roll through a highly populated area like the Metroplex, you want to make sure everyone takes cover.” Cavanaugh is further quoted as stating of the safest areas to remain during a storm, “The ideal is to get to a place with four walls and a roof over your head.”
As noted in the report, twenty-seven individuals throughout the U.S. have reportedly died from lightening strikes this year.
