New Site Offers Free Literature on Cell Phones
A new website is providing fee short stories on web enabled cell phones.
Press Release Service – Wired PR News – A recently launched website is providing short stories to individuals via cell phone for free. As reported by Reuters, CellStories.net, which launched on Tuesday, is believed by some to become underground competition for major digital or ebook reading devices.
Website creator, Dan Sinker, a Columbia College journalism teacher, is quoted in the report as stating of his disagreement with that notion, “Anyone that thinks something like the Sony Reader or the Kindle is a device that’s going to be around in even three years is delusional… We’re past the point where people say ‘I want one device to do one thing.”
Sinker is further quoted as stating, “CellStories isn’t the thing that replaces (the Kindle) but … the question of how do we read on computing devices was answered when phones like the iPhone came out.”
