WiredPRNews.com — Press Release — Cabo San Lucas, Mexico – This week as Hurricane Jimena approached the quaint vacation village of Cabo San Lucas as a potential Category 5 storm, The Villa Group, one of the most luxurious hotel, resort and real estate companies in Mexico, got the opportunity to test out its new Emergency Plan to its vast network of guests, friends and employees.

Thanks to The Plan - a rigorous crisis management program designed specifically for The Villa Group’s properties - along with advanced technology, and a professional staff trained for weather and other emergencies, the company’s luxury hotel properties in Cabo immediately sprang into action with a complete emergency program that had been tried and tested months before.

According to Carlos Aquino, General Manager for The Villa Group, the first priority of anyone in the hospitality industry is to provide their guests with superlative service, and in the event of an emergency, to keep them safe, comfortable and well informed. “Our trained staff jumped into action the moment we got word of an impending storm,” said Mr. Aquino. “We immediately reached out to all our guests personally, electronically and telephonically, and provided frequent updates on the storm’s path and progression. In instances where travel plans were affected, the hotel staff worked tirelessly with individual guests to work out the best travel solutions.”

Providing a positive travel experience is one of the most important ways of ensuring repeat business, and during an emergency situation, it is all the more critical. Since even the most luxurious vacation spots occasionally experience unforeseen challenges, Mr. Aquino offers these suggestions for riding out the storm:

• Develop a professional Emergency or Crisis Management plan for your property that has provisions for current guests, arriving and departingguests and staff

• Test out The Plan on a regular basis with company personnel so that all staff members including new personnel, are well acquainted with procedural responsibilities

• Let local First Responders such as Police, Fire and EMTs know about The Plan, and invite them to observe and participate in one of thefrequent “fire drills.”

“Mexico is still among the favorite vacation destinations for North Americans and Europeans,” said Mr. Aquino. “Not only do we want to keep it this way, we want to welcome more visitors to our beautiful country, and to let them know that we are thinking of their well being rain or shine.”
