U.S. Second in Economic Competitiveness

The United States now ranks number two among the world’s nations in competitiveness.
Press Release Service – Wired PR News – The United States has fallen in rank among the world’s nations in competitiveness. As reported by Reuters, a recent report shows the U.S. is now second place behind Switzerland as having the most competitive economy.
Jennifer Blanke, Head of the WEF’s Global Competitiveness Network, is quoted by Reuters as stating of the findings in the World Economic Forum’s 2009-2010 global competitiveness report, “We have been expecting for some time that it may lose its top-position. There are a number of imbalances that have been building up.”
Blanke is further quoted as commenting, “There are problems on the financial market that we were not aware of before. These countries (like the U.S. and Britain) are getting penalized now.”
