Press Release Service – Wired PR News – President Barack Obama called for immediate action on health care reform in his address to Congress Wednesday. In his televised speech, the president placed emphasis on the need for bipartisanship in order to find a workable solution to fix a problem with health care in the country that all parts of the political spectrum seem to agree is an issue.

Obama told Congress, “Our health care problem is our deficit problem, nothing else even comes close.”

Despite some Republican dissent, with Rep. Joe Wilson even going so far as to shout “You lie” while Obama was speaking, Obama received widespread applause when detailing parts of his plan, which includes provisions for outlawing the denial coverage for those with pre-existing conditions, and allowances for payment for mammograms and other types of preventative care.

Obama stated to Congress about previous tactics used by opponents to dissuade support for his health care plan, “The time for bickering is over…Now is the time to deliver on health care.”
