Google Tests New Flip Format
The company is seeking to impress readers with new online format.
Press Release Service – Wired PR News – Google Inc. is reportedly testing a new format for reading stories online. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), the search engine giant is seeking to impress users with “Fast Flip,” a service that would make reading online news stories similar to the way readers search through stories in printed magazines. Google unveiled the new format at a recent conference.
Krishna Bharat, who invented of the search engine’s news section, is quoted by the AP as stating of the new service, “The publishing industry is facing a number of challenges right now, and there is no silver bullet… We think increasing the viewing engagement is part of the solution.”
As noted by the AP, the service could lead to a significant increase in advertising sales for struggling publishers.
