Beyonce Sued Over Fierce Fragrance Plans
The entertainer is being sued by Abercrombie and Fitch Co. over plans for naming her next fragrance.
Press Release Service – Wired PR News – Singer Beyonce Knowles has been sued by a popular retail clothing company over plans for naming her new fragrance. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), Abercrombie and Fitch Co. have filed a lawsuit against the entertainer claiming her plans to call her fragrance the name of her alter ego Sasha Fierce would infringe on its trademark for its own Fierce fragrance.
Coty Inc., the company Knowles has reportedly signed a deal with for the marketing of her new fragrance, released a statement following the filing of the lawsuit saying the word fierce would not be used. Coty is quoted by the AP as stating, “Details related to the fragrance, including the official name, will be revealed prior to the launch in early 2010.”
