Willie Nelson supports Kinky Friedman in run for Texas governor.

The country musician stood side by side with Friedman at a fundraiser event for the humorist’s run for Texas governor.

As reported by the Dallas Morning News, Nelson and Friedman mingled with the crowd at a Plano country club Wednesday.

Friedman is quoted in the report as stating of his run for governor, “I’m not afraid to stir things up,” and has said he would focus on ending toll roads, education reform, and energy independence if he becomes governor.

Nelson is quoted as stating of Friedman, “I think he has some good idea for the state and, so do, I think, a lot of the rest of us… And Kinky’s willing to listen to all the ideas and take the best ones and run with them. Texas needs to do some things.”
